JustinT created the topic: Should Plumbers Be Asking, "Copper Or PVC?"
Over my years as a plumber, copper is still traditionally used in many structures, but PVC piping has become far more prevalent as it is also more cost effective in many cases. However, while PVC pipe may seem easier, I have found that even potable grades have some limitations for longevity and can lead to health issues in chemically sensitive individuals. The problem that we are facing is that as the
cost of copper rises
, it can also create cost dilemma for our business and for customers.
Should we just be phasing copper piping out completely in favor of PVC, in order to become cost competitive? What do you think about copper and PVC as we move forward?
